Is their a lemon law for cars purchased from private sellers?

the seller didnt mention the car is being sold as-is. no bill of sale either..

No. The lemon law regards new autos with problems that require alot of mechanic time. I got the lemon law on a car I purchased that was in the shop over 30 days in the first 2 months I owned it. This was a new care with a transmission problem. A used car (either private or dealer) "as is" or only with the remainder of the factory warranty. Some times a dealer may offer a special warranty but that takes it out of the lemon law category.

No I don't believe the law applies to a private seller, and if it was stated in the bill of sale "as is" it definitely does not.

No.

The "Lemon Law" only applies to new, untitled vehcles sold by a franchised new car dealer.

Used cars are sold As Is, Where IS.

No. I had the same issue. I bought a Jeep Cherokee from some mexicans and had the vehicle less than 24 hours and the 4wd and motor went out on me.

I'll never trust a damn mexican ever again.
