bought a used car from a private owner he said there was nothing major wrong with it now I get home and the motor is blown, is there any protection for this type of issue from
the state of va what can a person thats been deceived in this way do, what are my recourses

Hey people,
Im thinking of buying a car from this person. Its a ford escort 1.6 LX. It is a 1995 N Reg.

It has done 85,000 miles, Its just had its MOT done for a year. The owner has all its service and MOT history, its had a new exhaust, tyres, clutch and brakes. It is a petrol car with FSH, central locking and power steering. The owner is selling it for £995.

Also, has anyone ever owned a ford escort and how reliable are they? Do they break down alot? Everyone please share your thoughts.Is this a good value for money and what parts are likely to fail after 85,000 miles?
