Without any determining factors, I would select the 730.
But any wise selection would depend on the mileage on each and its exterior/interior condition.
Also do you mind the diesel, it makes a slight gurgling sound on the 04'. Gas vs. Diesel, its a matter of getting used to.
Now if we were talking about an 06' or 07' than price would be an issue. The 730 would have a heftier sticker price. And if price was an object, I would select the Lexus , because you get more value for your money.
By the way, you will find the 04' Lexus to have better interior features than the 04' BMW. But the resale value on the 730 is higher and it looks nicer.

Depends how deep your purse is for repair/servicing costs, I would pump for the Lexus, to many bmw's about, or maybe the bmw for the economy of a diesel, but for class & looks the Lexus

I'd say BMW, both are excellent cars but both suffer crap residuals the lexus more so.

The BMW 745 is better looking and more stylish but the LS is more refined and lower profiled..probably costs less,too....buy the Lexo
