You're in luck. Pretty much anything will last 100,000 miles with scheduled maintanence.

Do you want an SUV or a car with AWD?

If reliability is a top priority, as far as cars go, I would suggest looking at the Lexus IS250 AWD.

If you want something a little more SUV-like, then I suggest the Acura RD-X (not available yet, but soon) or the Mazda CX-7.

If you want something bigger and more SUV-like then the Toyota Highlander Limited is worth a look.

Subaru also has a wide array of AWD vehicles, though my experience has been that they are not quite as durable and sturdy as the Toyota/Lexus/Honda/Acura models. You might take a look at the Legacy H6 however.

I actual have had many 100k+ automobiles interior the final two decades. I actual have yet to have a project, yet I do my homework. the important to the finished element is how properly the previous proprietor(s) saved up their upkeep. I actual have considered decrease mileage automobiles that have been junk because of the fact the oil replace into on no account ameliorations, coolant on no account flushed, clogged filters ect. If a automobile is serviced on schedule, guy made oil used and the the terrific option stuff executed mind-blowing, 100k is purely getting broken in, especially on ecu automobiles. I actual have offered 5 SAABs with over 100k, positioned yet another a hundred on them and spent little or no to maintain them working great. Get each and all of the service records in case you could, and spend an hour hard paintings with a qualified mechanic to have a pre-purchase inspection executed. that's an incredible thank you to get an incredible automobile for a fragment of what they solid new...

Subarus have a proven AWD system that they have been using for over 30 years, and I have seen their vehicles last for at least 200-300K miles if taken care of and not beaten on...

Not to mention that most of their vehicles (save for the turbo and H-6 engines) get roughly 30 mpg on the highway which is better than 98% of any 4x4 or AWD vehicle out there....

2007 Ford Fusion

It has AWD, gets good mpg, and is well under $38k. You can go with the Lincoln MKZ if you want to go a little more upscale.

The Fusion is based off the Mazda6 so it's reliable, plus Consumer Reports and J.D. Powers surveys say the Fusion will last you a while.

I sold my 1987 Nissan Pathfinder a couple of months ago $1000.00. It had 242,000 miles on it. The only reason I got rid of it was because I have a growing family and needed a four door. I highly endorse Nissan. Toyota and Subaru are excellent also. Good Luck

the best make would be "a brand new one"

gm has a selection of vehicles that come with a 100,000 mile warranty. depending on your style you should not look so much by the brand but what brands have to offer you in service.
look for the best warranty & find a car or truck you like that has it
then one that you like etc,.

with a warrenty you are guarntteing that you will get to 100,000
& if the dealer did not think that the car would not make it.... they would no make it paying out in warrrnty cost

thanks,

ss

I'd buy a foreign make if you want it to last 100k miles w/ very little maintenence. I suggest Honda, Toyota, or Hyundai.

You always want to change the oil every 3,000 miles NO MATTER WHAT THE BOOK SAYS.

Ford Explorer with the 4L engine, I see these things last well over 300 000km, and still running smooth. They last forever, and they are a strong vehicle. I drive a Ranger, which is the sister to the explorer, and I have never had any problems with it, aside from haveing a semitruck put a rock through my girll, rad and fan. but maintance wise, if you do everything when it needs it, it will treat you good.
