in a 98 Ford windstar 3.0. Van will not start doesn't even turn over. Friend says it's the ignition switch, but I think it's the altanator. No dash lights come on or nothing when I try to turn over. Is it the ignition switch or could it possibly be something else?

Also, does a dual voice coil mean that I have to use two channels on my amplifier?

Where do you change from driving on the right/left side when you drive from England to France and vice versa? I mean it must be lots of trouble driving through the tunnel otherwise!

Which one do you think you would choose (new/newish). What do you rate them? Say, out of ten for 'living with day to day'??
Thanks!

This pathetic excuse of a government believes that pricing us off the road is the answer to environmental problems. I suggest that we outlaw Tea and Coffee!! Think about it, Tea and Coffee are imported from far away and therefore we clock up millions of miles of industrial travel to get it here. On the other hand think of the billions of killer watts of energy wasted every day to heat the water for these drinks! Let’s tax hot drinks out of existence! I need my car to get to work! No one needs Tea! Another plus is that people will sleep better!
Do you agree?

Starts ok, had a tune up 1 year ago, new plugs, wires, distributer cap and rotor. Got to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running often or it will die at stop signs. Tranny seems to be shifting funny also.Second gear seems to take a little longer to shift and it shifts into overdrive at about 30 mph. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

After the engine is warm, it occasionally will start to have hard upshifts accompanied with a whining noise. IF I shut the car off and restart it then it's usually OK. This is entirely random, may happen two days in a row for not for a week. 95K miles, trans was already replaced once at 30K. Never towed with this vehicle. 95% highway driving.

Its not working and I've got an MOT due and don't fancy A) Forking out to get it done and B) buying a Haynes Manual.

I've checked the fuses and I need to find the horn unit and/ or a diagram of the engine to aid aid me as I am somewhat of a jackass when it comes to repairs

my sister has a 5yr old renult megane, it has serviced and passed its mot at the end of feb 07.
This morning whilst driving down the motorway at 80+ the car looses power, she managered to get the car over 2 lanes on to the hard shoulder, when her insurance company came for her he told her the timing belt had snapped. She is lucky to be alive.
Does the timing belt go just like that, should that not have been picked up when serviced is the garage at fault, all advice helpful
