How do you calculate buying and washing work uniforms?
How much can I get? I bought 4 X $16 pants and a pr. of $100 Timberlands. That's $164 X 2%...or a big $3.28.

How about the $30 long distance credit? I don't have long distance, but I do call the 10-10-987 line.

What about my nearly $4300 in medical, hospitalization, dental, and perscriptions? I only made like $17,000. So that is 25% of my income. I am so broke after paying all that! That number is actually paid out, not all the bill. I still owe $3000 to the hospital.

What else I can do to save on my taxes considering I'm single with no kids?

We are a gay couple that have been living together for a year and a half now, my boyfriend is disabled and gets benefits. My question is since my income supplements his living and I able to recieve a tax credit for claiming him on my taxes? We obviously are not married, so perhaps in this instance it would aid in getting a tax credit where as by law we are not family and i am taking care of him?

Most of my tax info is simple, but this year there is something different. When I quit a job this year I withdrew my employer setup retirement, which had taken 12% of my pay check out prior to taxes and put it into their retirement system (they would match the contribution). The total amount was around 2600 dollars.

I reinvested 100% of the funds into an IRA with AG Edwards.

My question is what tax software should i use, or should I go ahead and see one of the people at HR Block or Jackson Hewitt?

I am concerned because the money I withdrew had not been taxed at all and there are alot of fees associated with withdrawing the money before a set time. I am worried Uncle Sam may think I am trying to dodge some taxes and try to Audit me later.

I don't mean seriously deliquent, just a few days late. I'm probably being paranoid, but it wouldn't suprise me either.

Can I itemize everything I have bought this year so long as I have the receipts (i.e. clothing, books, dining out, travel for pleasure, etc) or are there restrictions to what I can list there? If so, where can I find a list of them?

I live in the state of Washington and will be filing single.

I hope that someone here can help me. In 2006, I only made a total of $217.50. There was only a total of $10.00 taken out of my checks for federal income tax, and nothing for state. I still have not recieved a W2 and I was wondering if I am even going to recieve one? And if I even have to file taxes with those earnings? Will I get in trouble if I just file taxes and do not include my earnings? My and my husband file jointly, as he is the main wage earner. Thanks.

In CANADA I heard that you have to report income from mutual fund distribution and there's general advise not to buy funds near year end because of you will have to pay tax for entire year distribution.

If a mutual fund has income distribution (say around $5/month) every month, and I buy it after Jan 1, 2007, do I need to report it in my 2006 tax?

If I buy it on Nov 15, 2006, do I report $5 income (for Dec 1 distribution) or $60 (total distribution by the fund for entire year) ?

I live in Illinois and was wondering the following. I am planning on quitting my job this year, and live off only dividends I receive from stocks. What type of tax bracket would I be looking to pay at the end of the year? Obviously these stocks will be held for more than a year, since I live off the dividends.

I have not worked in 2 years and will probably go back later this year. My husband works and we have 4 children ( 13, 13, 15, 17). I am trying to figure out if going back full time makes sense or if I can work part time. I just can't figure out what will happen to us with taxes.
