I hope that someone here can help me. In 2006, I only made a total of $217.50. There was only a total of $10.00 taken out of my checks for federal income tax, and nothing for state. I still have not recieved a W2 and I was wondering if I am even going to recieve one? And if I even have to file taxes with those earnings? Will I get in trouble if I just file taxes and do not include my earnings? My and my husband file jointly, as he is the main wage earner. Thanks.

Since you are filing jointly, yes you must include that income. You need the W2 from that job in order to file. If you haven't received it yet, contact the employer. If you haven't received it by 2/15, call the IRS.

no matter how small they will issue a w2...and they will report the w2s to the IRS....at some point all the info they receive regarding your income and expenses will be matched to your tax return....the timing varies......now the amount being so small u theoretically could just omit and wait for them to notice and send u a letter telling u something was missing and what the consequences are...it doesn't sound like it would amount to much so u may want to chance it, if u have the last pay stub u could use this for the amounts...and do call the company itself they have to have copies of all w2s they could fax a copy or mail out another

You might not get a W-2 for an amount that small, but you could ask your employer for one. Since taxes were withheld, they should give you one.

Since you are filing a joint return, then yes, you are required to report this amount.
