from my check (by say, changing deductions to Married - 7) and then putting the money "saved" in an account, earn interest on it, and pay quarterly taxes with it? I am not self employed, I do have a regular W-2 type job. I know about not over withholding so you can get a big fat tax refund...but what i'm asking is what about under withholding and getting the interest on the money for the quarter?

I'm pretty sure they are required to provide their Tax ID number, but the daycare owner refuses to give us a statement of what we paid. I'm sure we can look back at our cancelled checks, but I have always received the year end statement in the past and was wondering if I should push the issue?

During 2006, I stayed in 5 different US states due to the nature of my consulting work. Seeking advise on a cheap & good way to file multiple state taxes.
If I use turbotax free edition, how do I fill for multiple states. Would appreciate any advice/info.

I have been calling the corporate office for over a week, several times a day because no one ever picks up their phone. I have also contacted the store themselves and they have told me it is not thier problem. I have not worked for this company since July and lost my last paycheck in the move. Do I have any course of action at all?

(PS please do not chide me for loosing my paycheck, I feel bad enough.)

The state of Florida is trying to pass a sales tax hike of 2 .5 percent so the wealthy home owners will not have to pay property tax. It is bad enough that us renters have to pay high rent, now they want us to pay their property tax too. What next? What do you think? Please only Floridians respond.
