I have my information in my tax software, I will not own any taxes. Should I still do the deduction part (i.e. student loan, daycare, etc)? Most to of the money that I get comes from my financial aid; in addition, I even have a credit from the IRS, which is the reason I am going to file. I just want to know if it is worth the extra time to file for deduction part if I own $0 to the IRS, and I even going to get a credit.
By the way, my income for employer was between 5K and 6k.

also, WHAT ALL CAN I WRITE OFF AS BUSINESS EXPENSES? whole phone bill or part?
PLEASE HELP!!! I AM LOST but really want to learn how to do it myself!

The useful life of the machines can't be 5 years like the government says it should be. They were owner contributions and not purchased, so I don't believe I could expense them (unless I'm wrong). What are my options?

We have joint physical legal custody of my step-daughter and it is our year to claim her on our taxes but we make over the amount to obtain the EIC. Can we still put her down on our taxes and let her mom take the EIC on hers?

Currently, no federal income tax is withheld from my husband's paycheck. (We're a one paycheck family.) We are planning on buying our first home in the next little while. Everyone talks about the tax breaks. Will we get any tax break since all that is witheld on my husband's paycheck is Social Security and Medicare tax?

I am 24 yrs old, have worked in 5 states, and have never filed my taxes. With all the moving I have done, I haven't always been around to collect W-2's... and then all the change of addresses never filed. Needless to say, I was thinking about filing... can I file in lump for the last 6 yrs? Is it worth it concidering that I only worked 3-4 months per year on any given year... some years 6-7 months. Any advice?

I am a 26 year old single female with a 4 year old child. I did a tax calculator, I put Head of Household, and claimed 1 dependant. I did not have any federal tax held out of paychecks and only made 12,000 in wages. I put daycare expense, 401K, and state taxes on deductions. It says I will get back $2854.00. I have not idea if this sounds right. It seems like single mothers usually get more than that.??? Can someone let me know if this sounds correct.
