Franchise Tax in Texas is VERY Complex (at least until 2008 when the rules are COMPLETELY, 100% changed!)

See a TAX PRO. As a tax pro in Texas, I will rate how I think Franchise Tax is to understand:
1040-EZ = 0.2
1040 Long Form = 3.0
1120 Corporate Return = 7.2
Texas Franchise Tax = 10.0

Just figuring out which PERIOD to be taxed on is confusing. There is NO WAY to give you broad answers to TX FT in this forum!
