You will receive a W-2 from your employer by the 30th of January 2007, and that is the law!

Your social security number can be verified by you in person if you look in your local telephone book for the nearest Social security office.
You must have a picture ID such as a drivers license, and a possible bank or credit card to verify your identity.

Since the entire purpose of a Social Security Number is to collect taxes and later pay them out, you can't and you need to get a valid SSAN. Not having a W2 is another matter. You can file taxes without one, reporting your income in the best manner possible (pay slips, personal records, etc.) and giving a reason you are unable to get a W2. Valid reasons might be that the person responsible for paying you died or disappeared without leaving a successor to solve the problem.

YOU CAN GO TO H & R BLOCK, THEY DO TAXES, BUT FIRST I WOULD GO TO SOCIAL SECURITY AND GET THAT PROBLEM FIXED, BECAUSE YOU NEED THE RIGHT ONE IN ORDER TO PUT YOUR TAXES IN.AND IF YOU DO IT ILLIGALLY YOU CAN BE FINED, AND WOULD HAVE TO GIVE ALL THE MONEY BACK PLUS MORE. GOOD LUCK.
