last year i was so busy with everything, i was going to wait to do my taxes, which i called the IRS and they told me as long as i didnt OWE anything, i could file at any time and not have to get an extention since i didnt OWE them anything. well i left out of town, and everything including my tax return forms are in storage. i planned on doing them when i returned home but have been here for ALOT longer with my family. im not sure when im going to be going back, (i move around alot for business) so i basically just pay my storage cost. well this year i really plan on filing my taxes as soon as my documents come in from previous employer because i know i am getting alot back, last year really wasnt much so i didnt worry to much about it, well someone jsut told me that because i didnt file last year, if i dont file those taxes THIS year from last year it will go on my credit, is that true? i NEVER owed anything, just got money back. cant i just file this past years taxes.?
