I had posted earlier about my state tax payment for 06 not being cashed yet. I received and email that said they had a backlog in opening returns and checks at the time of filing I sent my check on the 16th of April). The customer rep said " As of today, our records do indicate your payment being received. However,
we are experiencing a backlog in opening returns and checks mailed around
the time of the filing deadline. I would not be concerned at this time
that your check has not cleared your bank. It is recommended that you wait
a few more weeks before taking any further action."

I used a reputable accountant and I trust what she did and I know that I have proof for everything that was wrote off.

I am wondering how many people out there are experiencing their checks not being sent to the bank yet? Should I be concerned?

A place where I work gets many claims about why the restaurant charges 10.6% tax, the employees find out that it was the tip which is also being charged and by law this is not allowed no matter the cirmcustances, they been doing it for about 4 years now in sales of millions of dollars, worst of all, all managment has been propely adviced of the customer claims, how can we find out where the extra charge is going to and how can the customers get thei money back, everytime there is a complaint, the managers take the money from the employees income. Any advice or similar situations?

The problem is 10 years on going. I have the local "tax lady" working on it,but we seam to be getting nowhere. My records are poor at best, and making sense of what we git from the IRS is impossible. Are the advertised tax lawyers the best way to go?

I am an American citizen, married to an Italian citizen and a legal resident in Italy. We just filed our taxes in Italy, jointly. I now need to file in America and I assumed as Married filing singly. Will our situation be seen as a discrepancy? Obviously, my husband wouldn't have to file in America too. Thank you!

Don't tell me that I advantage from my educational taxes. I do not. The drop out rate is unending. I do not benefit from taxes assessed to me as one who does not have children. That's like telling me I have to pay taxes for anyone whom I have no affiliation with. It is the parents who should pay those taxes. If they don't want the taxes; don't have children. Kids are dropping out of school, yet I have paid taxes to educated them in vein.

Don't try to debate me. I don't have a kid in school and should not pay taxes to educate those that do. It is

I have chosen not to have children: I should I get a tax break because I am not a burden to the school system; I think I should. Parents of those children should bear all this burden since they know our system relies on tax dollars. I'm not putting a child in school and should not be taxed for those who have children in school. In fact I should get tax relief since I am not contributing to the burden of the school system.
