You can file your 2003 return, but it will have to be a paper filed return, it is way too late to electronic file it. Also, if you are owed a refund for 2003, it is too late to get that as well. You would had have to have filed the 2003 return by April 17, 2007 in order to get a refund. If you owe however, you have forever to file the 2003 return, but interest and penalties will keep on adding on until it is filed and paid.
PS, VeeBee is wrong, 2003 return is now past the time limit to get a refund for it.

You'll have to file a paper return and mail it in. However, if you have a refund coming it's too late now. You only have 3 years from the due date of the return to claim a refund.
I really wonder who the "Mental Midget" is that is giving the thumbs down on all of the correct answers? Must not have much of a life. ;)

You can only efile the current year's return.
If you didn't file your 2003 return, you can and should go ahead and file it now, on paper, but it's too late to get a refund if you had one coming.

Yes you can file late, but if you owe taxes you will have to pay the taxes, penalty and interest. If you are expecting a refund, you just file and they will send you your refund in about 6 to 8 weeks after processing it.

You have seven years to file that tax form, after that just contact IRS and explain data.
