When I questions my former employer they said. "wages were earned in 2005 but you received the check in 2006". "That's the way we've always done it." I believe this company is wrong in how they issue W2's.

I want to claim child care expenses that I paid to our neighbor who is 13, but not if it means SHE has to claim the money then, as earnings to her. It was a large chunk, over $1000, bui not worth her having to file taxes at her age. ???

My boyfriend and I both own a house together, Both our names are on the mortage and we are single. I've been claiming single-head of household for the past few years, but now he's made more than me this year. Can he file single-head of household this year as long as I file myself seperately?

I had to file a form 8379 after I filed with H & R Block, cause I found out that my husband's ex wife, made false charges. I have been told that the full amount of my refund went to the child support, however, the only income we have is MINE. I am ready to get my money back, and wondered if I would have to wait the full 8 weeks that it takes to process this form? Can I expect my money sooner?

I went to H&R block and tried to do the online tax preparation, but I can't get by without his social security number. The problem is that I have no way to get his social. I don't talk to him anymore and we are in the process of a divorce. Does anyone know a way around this?

My wife and I will file married jointly for 2006 tax, and I have my 401k deduction from w2 already, my wife will put $4000 to her IRA account too. My question is, can I still open a Roth IRA and put $4000 in it for myself? We both are 33 yrs old, total AGI is around $85,000.

I hope i can explain this right for everyone to understand. My fiance just got out of the military in August and was stationed in NC, which his W2 comes from Texas, and according to the tax office he owes over $700 in state taxes because the Military doesnst take out state taxes for some reason. The previous year he was also stationed in NC he didnt pay taxes either and didnt owe any to the state. He has had another job since he has been out of the military and has been paying in NC taxes so that isnt what hurt him. So does anyone have any reasons why he is having to pay state taxes for the time he spent in the military?

I had my taxes done and I was rejected by the IRS becuz someone used my daughters SSI# on they're taxes...this was a huge mistake I claimed my daughter last year and the yr before and no one else can claim her becuz she lives with me...if they don't do a fast refund how long will it take to get this fixed? And does Jackson Hewitt still have the right to charge me for the fast refund? They have sent my taxes back through to see if it will go thruogh today stating I have the right to claim her. Is there any way to contact someone from the IRS with out being sent to an automated service?????????

Dear Guru(s),

What are the tax implications of Incentive Stock Options (ISOs) upon an exit via buy out.

It is rumored that even if one does not exercise the options, s/he'll have to pay the taxes on ISOs as if they were regular capital gains. The hiccup is that the acquiring entity will provide their ISOs with restriction on disposition. SO in short, the ISOs will be swapped, but employees have to taxes on them without actually having any gain.

Please guide...

Do young people just not need tax relief? I'm 19 and last year i made $3,600 and i have to pay $530 in taxes on it. Its just silly that i should not be able to claim a tax credit designed to help low income people pay their taxes.
