I had my taxes done and I was rejected by the IRS becuz someone used my daughters SSI# on they're taxes...this was a huge mistake I claimed my daughter last year and the yr before and no one else can claim her becuz she lives with me...if they don't do a fast refund how long will it take to get this fixed? And does Jackson Hewitt still have the right to charge me for the fast refund? They have sent my taxes back through to see if it will go thruogh today stating I have the right to claim her. Is there any way to contact someone from the IRS with out being sent to an automated service?????????

So how long will this take to fix if it goes through the mail and how do I find out what *** hole put me through this ****...I had a problem last week with my X hounding me about claiming her and wanted to pay me $500 more than what I would get back since he made more money but we are in the middle of a custody hearing the Temp. Hearing was cancelled in Jan. and haven't heard anything else about it do you think this could be affecting it in anyway? I am SURE the father didn't claim her becuz he showed me his taxes and they were done by the same person.

If someone has already used your daughter's SSN on their return, resubmitting your return is not going to change that fact. The IRS will reject it again. Your only solution, if you truly are the only person eligible to claim your child as your dependent, is to file a paper return by mail. The IRS will automatically pull your return and the other person's return and send notices out to both of you. Then both of you has to be able to prove your right to claim your daughter. In the end one person will be rejected and the IRS will revise your taxes.

To get one of those refund loans, you must e-file your return. You can't e-file though as someone has used your child's SSN on their return.

You must file a paper return to resolve the exemption issue. The IRS will investigate the matter and will contact both taxpayers for proof of their entitlement to the exemption and will then award the exemption to the proper party.

Don't bother calling the IRS. They can't do anything about the issue until you file a paper return. They won't even discuss it with you until you've filed and they've contacted you about the duplicate use of your child's SSN.

if jackson hewitt told you that you were rejected your return is not completely done so you can do many things one if you know your the one that is suppose to claim your daughter then what you have to do is paper then the IRS will do the research. If you don't mind him taking the credit you can still file electroniclly but less money. And because you been rejected you don't pay jackson hewitt because its not complete yet.unless you let Jackson Hewitt finish it for you they can still charge cause they are providing services.

The fast refund is a loan. A high interest loan. Nothing more.

So, if Jackson Hewitt gives you the money, you gotta pay the fee.

They can, however, refuse to give you the money if they feel that your ability to repay is at risk.
