My wife and I will file married jointly for 2006 tax, and I have my 401k deduction from w2 already, my wife will put $4000 to her IRA account too. My question is, can I still open a Roth IRA and put $4000 in it for myself? We both are 33 yrs old, total AGI is around $85,000.

You can have one ROTH IRA per person
So yes, you and your wife can each have one, and it's a GREAT idea.

I believe you BOTH can have a Roth IRA- but keep in mind you get no deduction for it at this time.
