I tried to file my federal taxes online today and everything was going good until near the end when i tried to submit some final info. Then this screen showing Internet Explorer said I can't go further. It recommended trying to refresh the screen or adjusting the security settings on my browser. I tried both and did not work. The site I used was extaxreturn.com
Should I just mail my returns or is there another site without these problems?

What type of action can be taken against an employer if I have yet to receive my W-2? I've called twice since Feb 1 and still no results. This is a multi million dollar corporation that I worked at for 13 years but quit last June.

My daughter lives with her mother. Her mother has custody. However, both are claimed as a dependent on the grandmother's taxes.

I want to claim my daughter on mine, do I have a right? As I understand it, when it comes down to a dispute on who gets to claim, there's a heirarchy of these things. Between a parent and grandparent, the parent gets preference. I also provide ~75% of my daughter's support as well.

Basically I am asking on the basis that my daughter's mother does not file taxes, can I then claim my daughter?

How can the custodial parent who does not have any income, but files a joint return with their new spouse claim the children on their tax return? Also considering that the non custodial parent contributes more than 50% or their entire house hold income and pays for 100% of all medical and non reimbursable medical cost for the children. Why then can the non custodial parent not claim the children on their tax return?

I've already filled out and sent my 1040EZ with the w-2 from my current job. However, today I received a W-2 from a job I had at the beginning of 2006. I want to add this W-2 to what I've already sent in. Is there a way to do this? Should I contact the IRS and ask them to ignore what I just sent in?

I work in retail and all the immigrants that come in always want a discount or freak out because the amount on the register is different from the price on the tag. most of them are legal because I can see in their wallets they have medicare or some sort of state ID. some even accuse me of trying to rip them off. I've seen this happen in Target or other chain stores too. Can't the goverement try to educate them once they come to this country.

I am currently making payments for federal taxes owed for the 2005 year. I recently did my 2006 taxes, and I am getting a good refund. I noticed that when you check the status of the return on the IRS site, it says, "We have received your tax return and it is being processed. Unless we find mistakes or you owe other taxes, you should receive your refund by February 27, 2007."

My refund is going to be larger than the amount I owe. So, my first question is, will they just deduct what I owe from my refund? And second, since I owe, will it actually delay me getting my refund deposited?
