If you make under $6,000 then I don't think you have to claim. There may be other factors that lead to you still waiting for a return. Perhaps you filed differently that your boyfriend and that is why he has his return and you are still waiting. I would talk to a tax professional, such as one at H&R Block if you are concerned about your past returns. They can help you with that.

It's more likely that it's being held up because you were claimed as a dependent by your b/f.

If you had more than $3,300 in gross income for that year or if you did not check the box that you can be claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer it's likely that your return AND his are being reviewed by the IRS.

If you earned more than $3,300, your b/f will be getting a notice from the IRS disallowing the exemption along with a bill for taxes due.

Your return will be held up until the IRS resolves the whole thing. There's no way that you can speed that process up. You should plan on not having that money available for your wedding expenses. It might come through on time but you should NOT plan on it.

If you didn't file the last three years, but were not required to, that shouldn't hold up your refund. Did you file electronically and request direct deposit? Then you should have had it within a couple weeks. A mailed check takes a week longer plus mailing time, so if they're mailing your check, you should get it soon. If you mailed in your return, then it could take awhile yet.

If you did efile and request direct deposit, have you checked the irs.gov "where's my refund"?

Good luck, on getting the refund soon, and on your wedding and marriage.

Visit http://irs.gov to find the status of your refund. Also, if your boyfriend claimed you this year, your filing status would have been different and that could have caused a discrepancy leading to a delay in your refund.

If you don't work what are you going to file? You can not claim any taxes if you don't work. Good Grief!!!!!!!!!
