I am looking into setting up a UK based IT recruitment agency.As yet I have not decided if I will specialise in one skill set but believe there is a market for one skill set I know of.

I have been in IT 4 many years as a contractor,so know the market & process of obtaining candidates & how it works.It is not that difficulty.

I am however missing the fundamental knowledge on things such as law relating to agencies, contracts, what an agency needs in terms of specialist law, procedures? Ways of selling and getting clients etc.

I can run a business and do already, but how do I best move into recruitment & what do I need to know?

Any useful sources or tips will be greatly appreciated.

He is very er.. 'influential' and rich. He also has a reputation of being an all out jerk, not paying for services rendered, suing anyone that goes against him, and threatens people to submission.

Can I reject a person like this from doing business with me? I don't have a lawyer, so your opinions will greatly help.

I have contacted an oversea candy shop supplier. And the Company is interested in partnership in oversea. Basically,they sell candy sweet, chocolate and some of their own label soft toy. I am consider a new comer and does not have any back ground and wish to go into this business bring the products into my country but it is difficult to know where to begin. Basically, I just don't know where to begin. How can I convince other party to join in , or do I need a business plan? How do I go about starting since they are interest? Do I look for an investment angel, or do I take out a small business loan?

Someone called about a home business (have been looking for a while to make money from home). She told me a little about the business and when I hesitated she told me to take a risk. Well, instead of hanging up on her (should have), I paid the startup costs of $200. Some of the things she said were misleading about the business. The only way I can get my money back is have 30 prospects for them to work with after 60 days. I am to advertise the business and if people join, I get paid. My question is-If I advertise w/ business cards, do online advertising, etc. am I misleading the people in any way knowing that when they visit my website or talk to the company there will be some info. left out and if they sign up they may lose money and then find out some things like I did. I wouldn't claim in my ads that you could make thousands or hundreds weekly or anything like that. The business is the professional closers.

I have a Home Improvement Business. I can sell the job very easy. When I start the job The customer Loves Me. I am very frendy and and very kind and polite. As the job goes on the customers seem to take advantage of me, Not paying me on time, asking extra of me and my time. In the end I feel like there slave and seem to have to plea for my money. It must be me a this is alwasy the case. I am getting to Hate my line of work. I have a hard time standing up to them. Should not be as frendley? How should I handle myself?

I would like to start working at home and making money (I'm a 17 year old student that's currently being "supported" by my family and I do not drive) through random things. Some ideas I have include freelance-writing/researching for people, selling on ebay, making art and selling it, starting a $1-5 a year quote/advice email subscription service, and I'm going to work on writing some books and starting a "positive self-growth" website with info on self-healing, meditation, etc. I'm seeking advice and guidance...where do I start? How would this work? I thought to advertise on craigslist, etc. but do I get people to pay (like with paypal) first, (when it comes to the freelance-writing/researching) or what? Any advice is appreciated. THANKS!

This would be specific to NYC, and would provide personalized suggestions for all performing arts based on the client's preferences (dates, price range, type of show desired) for lesser known gems that require knowlege of the arts scene and venues - off-Broadway, live jazz, cabaret, dance, classical music, etc ... The ideal client would be someone who finds the entertainment listings in magazines and newspapers overwhelming and does not have the time/desire to do the research and would rather have an expert who knows his/her preferences to recommend appropriate shows and set up the plan.

I am a college art student, and I am interested in making jewelry, lamps, and mosaics to sell. I don't want people to steal my ideas and claim them for their own. I know a trademark is something like a name brand, and that a copyright keeps people from taking your material, but doesn't a patent enable to you make and sell things with your own 'label' or name? I'm confused. Can I sell my own creations with my name on it without one of those things issued by the government?? If not, which would I need??
