If I purchase items (legally) from the internet and sell them in my garage like a garage sale is that legal? Also, the products will be new. I have a sole proprietership business.

Check with your township/city to see if there are ordinances prohibiting running a business from your home. If you run it like a garage sale, most cities have restrictions as to the number of garage sales allowed per year. If you live in a subdivision, also check into your homeowner's association's declaration of covenants, conditions and restrictions (CCRs) regarding home businesses.
