Hi, I will soon be purchasing a home for my mother for half the appraised value. The loan will be in my name although my mother insists both our name be on the title. What does this mean for me should there be any dispute to the rights of the home later? I must add that me and my mother have a very rocky relationship.

We recently purchased a house in New York, the lawyers may have have messed up on the cost of the Mortgage Tax that was due from us (the buyer). A day after the closing, the seller contacted us about the wrong amount. Is the seller allowed to ask for more money after the closing?

Does the owner have to reside in the house for the entire period of 2 years or can the owner go on a vacation for several mths during the 2 year time?? I am referring to like a house in Los Angeles. We are being told that we must rent out the other house for just at the morgage price and no more is this true or are they trying to get over on us about the extra rent we could make on the rental price of the house?

If I make an offer on a home that is contingent upon the sale of my home, and the seller can boot me if they get another offer that isn't contingent, then how am I any better off than just waiting until mine sells and making a non-contingent offer? Is it because there is a small chance that the seller will actually have a heart and stay loyal to me or stop accepting offers? Thanks.

I have a large house and live here alone. My 2 kids have moved out and I have 2 spare bedrooms. I do not want to move out or sell. I own the house and it has 3 bedrooms and a full kitchen and a family room.
I need some pro's and cons about room mates. I just think not being here alone all the time would be nice, or would it?
I dont want personal friends or smokers here. I work quite a bit and dont smoke, and really do not want smokers living here. Any thoughts on the subject?

I refinanced my my mortgage about 5 years ago to lower my interest rate about on main 3/4 and get rid of my second mortgage. I took out about 60,000 and saved it a while, bought a few things for the house 20K(new windows, repainted house), loaned 25K to parents, bought a car. I didn't really look when I was paying my property taxes the last few years, but now notice it is up about 400 per year. Is this because of refinace? Is this OK? If not, can I get my money back for the property taxes paid? Please help, I really can't keep paying this extra money.

I finally decided on my car, im buying my Maserati Gran Turismo, black..shes gorgeous.

Now i want to move, our house is small, and im tired of living there.

So which is a better choice.

3400 sq feet, $500k, but a long commute to work
4200 sq feet, $700k, better neighborhood, short commute?

we REALLY like the smaller house, but the location isnt as good. The larger, more expensive one has an amazing location, in a multi million dollar neighborhood, one of the most prestigious in the area, and some of the best schools

what would be best?
