Looking for a farm and have seen only 2 that were advertised through local relators. Is there a more of a traditional way they prefer to sell their farm?

Mostly by word of mouth within the community, but they do have open auctions that are advertised in their newspaper "The Budget." I have seen some auctions go where there are no bidders on the property, so there are opportunities. Mostly though, they are selling to their own family and trying to keep things in the community as much as possible.

On the rare occasion that Amish sell outside the family, it's probably advertised by word of mouth within the Amish community. Most of the time property is passed down through the family and it's rare that it is ever sold outside the Amish community.

Word of mouth.

Most Amish and Mennonites distrust "English" ways of transacting real estate, and prefer to conduct their business by word of mouth. Go to places that they frequent in your area and ask around. But tread lightly.
