how do you know if you are quilified for a equity loan.I know we have equity in our home and in the past I have always been told "sorry you are not quilified for anequity loan but we can refinance your home".I know that the lender makes alot more off a refi, but does it have something to do with credit scores? If a person has alot of equity in their home why not be able to just get that kind of loan instead of a refi?Or is it all about the lender making more money?

I hear that you can purchase a home for say $100,000, but it is valued at $150,000. buy the house with no money down and a low interest rate, take out some of the equity after close, use that equity to pay the mortgage for a year, re-fi after six months and then put the house up for sale. can this be done? is it legal for the person buying the home? or is it a scam?

We are buying our first home and I just found out that the replacement value that our homeowners insurance will cover is $42,000 more than what we are buying the house for.... is this a good thing?

We're getting cash back from a builder. We can use it towards upgrades or towards the loan or down payment. Does it make a difference in our loan how we use it?

Thanks,

We inherited a mobile home from my husbands parents. The park it is in has said we cannot move into the mobile home, as my husband and FIL (deceased) had words with an ex park manager a few years ago. This guy was a trouble-maker, and they fired him, but the park is refusing to let us move into the home that WE NOW OWN! We're in Florida. Anyone know if we have any options?

A friend of mine owns a house with an older "sugar-daddy" type of man. Both names are on the house as well as the loan. If this older man passess away (he's in his 80's), what happens to the house? Does she get to keep it? Is it considered part of his Estate (Due to him co-signing on the loan for her to get it?) Or would she have to refinance in her own name only? Sorry so many questions...

Would love to know!

I have placed a contact on a home, things have changed for me and my job maybe taking me to a new location.
The contract did not get signed before it expired it was signed after the date of offer, I never signed a new one. Will that be enough of a loop hole to get me out of this contract?

I have a 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath house. I am looking to buy a second home sometime 2007 or 2008 and I want to keep my current house and rent it out. I was told that if I take section 8 I will be almost guaranteed to have a tenant and I won't have to worry about people not paying rent because the govt. pays it anyway. I was worried about people not taking care of the property but I was told that section 8 will also pay any damages the tenants cause. How do I go about getting my house approved to take section 8? I sent HUD an email last week and they didn't respond. Also is there a cap on the rent I can charge? I want to charge between $650 and $700 for rent.
