I would REALLY appreciate anyone w/ life insurance (or stubborn husband) experience!!!
I am 38 and my husband is 49. My husband is the sole income provider of our family.
Since our first child's birth, I have tried to discuss with him the importance of planning for our deaths. Our oldest son is 15, and he still refuses to have a Will drawn up. Also, he refuses to purchase term life insurance on us both in the proper amount according to our famincome.
He is normally a very thoughtful and extremely responsible person. I know his lack of planning is due to his inability to deal with his own mortality.
I have continued to express concerns re: our lack of planning for 15 years! I have approached it from every angle I can think of.
On my own, I have contacted insurers to get coverage for us both & pay from my own "rainy day fund". No one will write a life policy in any amount without 1st performing a physical.
How do I protect my family in this situation?

I know the annual max contribution is $4,000, but is there a max if I'm pulling the initial investment from cash, mutual fund and a VUL?

there's this man in my country. he's in malaysia (which is next to singapore in the south-east asia).

he works as a CEO/managing director/executive director and owns 10% of his company on paper but 90% literally.

he has a swimming pool, a river and two waterfalls for his exterior design of his house.
his first house costs RM 3.5 million + 2 million (for furniture) = 5.7 million ringgit. in the US, it costs 1.7 million bucks.
his second house costs RM 1 + RM 2 million (for furniture) = RM 3 million ringgit. in the US, it costs around 1 million bucks.
he has a few other houses which costs around 500,000 dollars - 1 million dollars altogether.

his wife owns TONS of couture clothes.

he owns 8 computers in total, 10 televisions altogether, 9 telephones and a few bunch of stuff.

he takes a loan, too and spends approx $165,000 for 4 of his elder children and nearly $40,000 for his 2 younger ones. he also has 3 cars.

is he considered middle-class/upper-class/mega rich in the US?

I have had my loans in forebearance for about 2 years thinking I would get a better job. Well, I actually lost my job at the bank I was working so now I am going down the criminal justice route. Anyways, my monthly payment is going to be about $400. I am just making ends meet now with a few nights out here and there. How does everyone do it? I sometimes don't really see why I went to the trouble to get a degree. Do you guys find it hard paying your loan each month?

That people who say they would spend lottery money on children and animals and the elderly and disabled are full of it and would go straight to there bank and spend it all on them selves. i know i would. i guess i'd pay off some bills to.

Then he suggested me to take out more than one Loans and i can get around the Mortgage insurance.....i smell something fishy here...Can anybody suggest me what are the cons of taking more than one loan? I asked the same question to him but he replied there is no cons except writing out more than one check ?

I have two questions:

My husband has some savings bond. They were given to him by his parents (8 x 1k face value). They only have his name and his mothers name (now deceased) on them. If (God forbid) something happens to him, do they become part of his estate so I am entitled to them?

Second question: I have some bonds that MY parents bought for me. They have my mom's name and my name and SSn on them. Do I need to change to married name? Is SSN enough to identify me. (I am assuming whatever answer above applies to my bonds for my husband also).

Thanks for your help. Please answer only if you know and don't send me to any links, I've looked there and not satisfied with answer.

Suppose you put 4000 in Roth IRA this year. Let's say it grew to 20000 when your reach 59.5 years.

We withdraw the entire amount. So my question is if the 16000 you made in the roth IRA taxable? Or is the whole 20000 free from taxes.

Some helpful links with answers would be greatly appreciated.

My daughter had a family member staying with her a couple of years ago who ran up a lot of debt at her address. Now she keeps getting phone calls and letters with threats of baliffs to come to her house even though she has sent letters back saying this person has not lived here for a number of years and she has no knowledge of where they are. She no longer has contact with this ex member of the family and is at her wits end thinking the baliffs can take her belongings. Does she have any rights?
