My boyfriend and I and another couple (Our friends) put a deposit down on a condo for a vacation. A lady I worked with owns the condo. I quit my job because of some things that went on... and now she won't give me my money back! I called her and she told me she was sending my check in the mail... and I still haven't gotten it. I called her and she won't respond to my calls. She gave the other couple their money... but not mine!! I don't know what to do?!? Help!

My husband and I both graduated college, and are currently over $10,000 in debt. I am so depressed because I dont know how two people with full time jobs are so poor. It just seems like we can never get ahead. I keep calling VISA (which I maxed out yesterday) to try to get them to lower my interest rate, so I can get a bit of a break and pay a little more off (like Oprah said they will do if you call) but all I get is middle easterners who say no.

What exactly do the Credit Consolidators do? Is it worth what they charge? What do they require. I am starting to make sacrifices because I am SERIOUS about paying this debt off. Its just so depressing I feel like its never going to happen. I want to pay it off, and get rid of Credit cards for good, and save for my future children and what not.
Any ideas on what to do?

Considerate answers only please*

I am 23 years old and I plan on getting married next year. The only problem is, I'm terrified!!! Here's why: By the time I get married I should have $40,000 saved up, plus a $10,000 car. I figure that by the time I pay for a down payment on a house though, my money will pretty much all be gone. I'll be left with about $20,000 and will have a RN job that'll pretty much pay all the bills, but I wont have much left for savings. How will I be able to make extra money. I think it might be better for me to just stay with my folks for 3 more years and save enough money and THEN move out. What should I do.. I need some good advice!

We have completed a bankruptcy but were served with a nondischargability claim from a private lender claiming fraud. I have all of the answers and want to know if it is advisable to answer the complaint by myself so as to avoid additional and unnecessary attorney fees.

My ex used a credit card i didn't know we had after we were separated. 4 years later i am finding out he is in about $20,000.00 in debt. How can i find out from the info i have from the collection agency, who the debt is with and exactly what he paid for with the credit card? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to contact the collection agency directly so they don't start coming after me.

could that ever be a problem? it's because I moved to his house after we got married and he never bothered adding my name to them. I've been paying the bills, should I have my husband add my name? if yes, why?

I was in a car accident about 6 months ago and had a fracture in my lower back. I wasn't driving and I didn't sue the driver. My back is healing slowly and I’ll be 100% sometime soon. His insurance agents and my insurance agents came to an agreement and are giving me a $50,000 dollar settlement.

I’m 22 years old. I have a brand new car. As a college graduate I make a pretty decent salary for my age. I was wondering what someone in my situation would do with that kind of money. No stupid answers like "give it to me". I’m asking hypothetically. If anyone has well financial knowledge please give me some advice. Obviously I’m going to indulge, and buy a couple nice things for myself.

Hi.. what do yall think?? Here's my situation (I'll explain as breifly as possible)

I live on a small stipend and scrape by paycheck-paycheck.. I currently have only about $15 in my account but today is payday. Got my paycheck.. Here's the problem

#1 they never distribute the checks until after 2.00 which is the deadline for deposits to be made to count for that day.

#2. I am leaving on a trip with a choir early tomorrow morning (before banks open).

#3. I HAVE to purchase some things tonight before I go.

One time I deposited my check via the atm (AT THE BANK) in the evening.. THEN AFTERWARD I went and bought some things at the grocery store using my bank card. Well.. I knew my paycheck wouldn't "Hit" right away, but I figured neither would the purchase! But, even though the purchase was made AFTER the deposit, it hit first, the bank hit me with a overdraft charge and REFUSED to take it off, even after I explained the situation

see additional details for my question

I left my employer 4 months ago, but my sister in-law (with the same surname and initials) is still employed. By mistake they have paid her salary into my account.

My last employer treated me badly so I have no quarms about keeping this.

I have informed my sister-in-law and she is indeed missing the salary and very embarrassed that I now know what she is paid. Does she have any rights against the employer as well as they have effectively broken her confidence by revealing her salary.

How will the company reclaim the money from me? Can they simply reverse the payment to my account? Do I have the right to refuse to pay them back?

Sorry for the long question and thanks for your help.

We have a choice, go broke or go into more debt in order to get out of debt. I'm not sure what the best decision would be. If my wife stays and works, we are negative. If she takes out school loans we are fine on money, but will her schooling be worth it? She will be going for a Masters in Social work. What do you think?
