My wife and I are trying to save up for a house downpayment. We have a meager 10k, and want to get the most out of it for the next 1-2 years before we'd like to buy. Where will our hard earned money grow best?

I sold a car to my Dad last year and he signed a "bill of sale" in which he agreed to make payments to me on a monthly basis over a two year period.

After paying on it for a few months he gave the car and loan to his girlfriends (40 year old) daughter, who needed transportation. He told me that if she got behind on the payments to let him know and he would take care of things.

Well, in August my Dad died unexpectedly. I have not received any payments from the gf's daughter since. I do not know if the car is still titled in my Dad's name or her name. My dad did not own much and his estate was not probated - girlfriend just cleared out his apartment and cleaned out his bank account to pay for funeral home expenses.

Is there any way that I can prove the car rightfully belongs to me, since $6000 is still owed on it? GF's daughter does not answer my emails and we do not live near one another.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

He had stocks and now we need to transfer them into the grandchildren's names or mine. Once I transfer I will divvy everything up once my Grandmother passes on. What should I do now.

I was clearing out some rubbish and i had totally forgotten i had a private pension with Scottish Widows with about £500 in it, i am sure i read an article regarding a possible takeover of them, if that is the case, who took them over and would there be a windfall payment to all customers who qualify, i am slighty off the pace with all this and confused. Have i missed a windfall as the last time they wrote to me was March 2003 and have moved address several times since, your help would be great. Thank You Grant.

I am turning 30 this year, and I am concerned about my financial future and retirement. Having saved some (but not as much as I would have liked), I'd like to see where I stand.

Thanks to those who replied. A further quesion; what happens if you have to stop work for whatever reason - i.e. do you lose money or is the pension frozen enabling you to continue contributing when possible? Thanks for replying.

I am the youngest of 11. I still stay with my parents because they are sick. I pay the bulk of the bills and buy all the groceries and household items. My brothers visit the house three to four times a day looking for something to eat and to borrow things from the house.

Living in Cali is not easy (cheap) so after spending $1200 on rent, $400 on gas, $500 on food, $600 on bills and we haven't even talked about the fun stuff.

Okay you get the picture, I just can't believe that finding reasonable or maybe a way to help with the cost of healthcare is such a difficult task.

HELP!!!

I ordered something off the internet yesterday so they have not charged it on my debit card.

There is an ATM (from that bank) not that far from here, but it says something about an envelope..Where can i get these envelopes?

If they take it from my funds tomorrow and i deposit money tomorrow, would they still charge me extra for not having funds?

All of them promise to make a person rich. Sounds good, but how do you know which one is straight forward and mean what they say? If anyone knows a website that lists real, honest work at home jobs. Please let me know. Does the government have a website like this, or, any truthful info about working at home unsing a computer and internet. There must be someplace on the internet that a person can get advice for this search. Thanks
