Just put in an empty envelope. Tell them it was a mistake. You can only get away with that one once though. And the bank will charge you $25.00. It will be on your bank record. As mentioned earlier, most banks have a limit around $4-700 for immediate withdrawel anyway, so That is a high interest to pay. Second time and you may lose your account. You will be flagged and it will become difficult to open another account at ANY bank.

Hi... Most banks (all that I know of) won't allow you to withdraw more than a certain amount per day (usually the max is $400). Furthermore, you can't withdraw money that is not already in your account. So if you "deposit" money via an ATM, the funds are not available immediately... so nope, you wouldn't get the $1500 out of an ATM. Hope this answers your question...

Why do you think it takes time for ATM deposit to go thru. They are preventing people doing fraud like this. Your account will be red flagged and they can call the cop on this fraudulent activity. You better off not doing it.

Most banks won't let you withdraw the money until the deposit is verified. For banks that do, they'd probably prosecute you since it's obvious theft, not just a mistake.

I think they would call the cops. I just looked it up on Google & it actually has a name: Empty Envelope Fraud.

Since there's a name for it...there's probably a penalty.

They would probably call the police, as what you would be doing is fraud, and grand larceny.
