Living in Cali is not easy (cheap) so after spending $1200 on rent, $400 on gas, $500 on food, $600 on bills and we haven't even talked about the fun stuff.

Okay you get the picture, I just can't believe that finding reasonable or maybe a way to help with the cost of healthcare is such a difficult task.

HELP!!!

1) Consider going to a local dental school for dental work. There are many excellent dental schools in CA. (e.g. UCSF, UOP, UCLA & USC) The work is performed by advanced students & supervised by faculty.

Link to schools of dentistry in CA.

2) Ask if your dentist will give you a break if you pay in cash. Some dentists will if their office doesn't have to go through a lengthy billing procedure & you pay for the services in cash instead of a credit card.

3) Focus on preventative care to avoid the need for costly dental procedures later.

4) Consider getting catostrophic health coverage. It is a health insurance policy w/ a high deductible that is designed to cover in case of a serious illness. Such policies help people put a "cap" on their portion of medical bills if they get seriously ill. It's better than being completely uninsured & being completely liable for all expenses.

5) You can also do the same w/ optometry. For example, UC Berkeley has an excellent School of Optometry that offers services to the public.
