I ordered something off the internet yesterday so they have not charged it on my debit card.

There is an ATM (from that bank) not that far from here, but it says something about an envelope..Where can i get these envelopes?

If they take it from my funds tomorrow and i deposit money tomorrow, would they still charge me extra for not having funds?

Unless the ATM is the new kind that does not require an envelope, there should be envelopes AT the ATM. The main purpose of the envelope is to keep your deposit together so the teller that balances the machine can verify the contents match what you claimed. ANY envelope will work. You should write your name and account number on the envelope so it can be easily matched to the deposit.

NOTE: ATMs have a deposit cutoff time that MAY be earlier in the day than deposits at the teller window. Be sure to check for a notice on the machine.

I don't bank with Wells but I've worked at B of A and currently work for WaMu and here's how it works with them. I'm sure Wells is similar.

If you order something online over the weekend and deposit money on Monday before the bank closes, both transactions are processed on Monday's business day. Weekends and holidays are not considered business days for banks, and transactions done at those times are processed within the next two business days.

They process deposits before debits, regardless of which transaction was done first, so you would be in the clear. But check with Wells because each bank is different, and I know for a fact that US Bank processes their deposits & debits the opposite of B of A and WaMu so that they can hit their customers with overdraft fees (the extra charge for not having funds). My suggestion is to call the Wells customer service number on the back of your ATM card to verify all of this.

As far as using the ATMs, they should be well-stocked with envelopes and all the equipment you need to make a deposit through the ATM. And if they're out of envelopes, use your own blank envelope. It won't make a difference. The ATMs are pretty user-friendly and easy to understand.

I tried three times yesterday (9/22/14), two drive trough's and a walk up ATM. They were not accepting deposits. Two of the machines did not present a deposit option, and the third, failed to open the door to the slot where you would insert the check(s). I will ask the teller about that when I go inside today to make my deposit.

You deposit money to your checking account, your debit card works off your checking account. When you use it, money is taken away (debited) from your checking. You just need to maintain a positive balance in your checking. You can deposit money into your checking account with your debit card at the ATM.

The envelopes are by the atm, but you can use a regular business envelope. They should post deposits first, so you should be OK.

fill out the envelope by the atm and then follow the steps on the machine. the same way you would withdraw, just follow the steps through the machine
