Ok, we're in a lot of debt (credit and school) and we're trying to get out but haven't had a vacation for over 3 years. (just used days to stay at home or for doctors appointments. that's NOT vacation).
We live almost paycheck to paycheck as we're trying to pay things off faster, but my kids are at the perfect age to start camping (2,4,6) and my wife doesn't like the idea of a regular tent, and I don't want her first camping trip to be a disaster. I've been looking for a cheap tent trailer (and I think I found one that is in decent shape except for the canvas needing to be replaced). I think I can get it for 400 or less. I'm very good at fixing things and I think I could do the canvas myself (I have access to industrial sewing machines) and whatever other repairs there are to be done. Is this a bad idea that is going to end up costing a lot more?
I'm just so tired of being stuck at home and I hate giving money to motels. That's money I'll never ever see again.

I have a Upromise account (not the 529, just the account for my savings) and a separate 529 account. My plan is not one of the Upromise "blessed" plans and, therefore, I can't transfer the Upromise money directly into my 529 plan. Does anyone know how I can cash out the money in my Upromise account? Or at least some way to transfer the money into my 529 (eg, open another 529 to get the money out and then transfer from that plan to my 529 without paying huge fees)?

If you notice a month later that the bank teller deposited a check for $170.00 instead of $70.00 (it was supposed to be $70.00) do you get that corrected or do you just shut up?

I used to have a checking account but it got overdrawn and I couldn't cover it in time so they closed it. The thing is, I need a checking account. If I go to credit union as oppsed to a bank, will they check that system that banks report to? Are they going to deny me?

I'm trying to apply for a personal loan so I can make a residence change and move out of my paren't house as the living situation is dangerous for me right now. I'm not sure what the amount is that I would need but I'm thinking like a $5,000 loan would be good to start with. I've never had a loan besides a student loan and I have an account with bank of america. I was wondering what the difference between their personal revolving loans and their personal loans were. Also, do I have to have a cosigner and any other information you could provide would be great. Thanks!
I don't really have a lot of credit as I just got an A/X blue card and a Bank of America Visa card with a $3,000 limits but under my parents account. They have A1 credit. Both of these cards have my actual name on them though. But, I desperately would need the loan asap so I would appreciate any advice.
My student loan is in deferment until I graduate from school. Please let me know if I need to put anymore information.

Never had a credit card before just applied for my first one, through my bank and they gave me a credit limit of $6,000. That seems weirdly high to me, no?

I recently left a job where my paycheck was getting direct deposited. Will my last paycheck from there be direct deposited? Or mailed to me? It was already supposed to be in my account but nothing as of yet. I am worried they are trying to shaft me of my last weeks pay.

The IRA sales rep gave us a presentation today and I tried signing up for it but she pushed me aside so she could speak with the professionals, and none of the clerical staff where I work have one. I'm not on welfare just because I'm an office clerk, I have lots of extra money after my living expenses and would like to save for retirement so what do you recommend?
