I need financial help. I prepared for one thing and it has been a snowball effect. First child support stops, then sick child, medical expenses, over 200 in medication, private school, windshield cracked from one side to another. I have raised my credit record from 505 to 585 in only a year of being divorced. I can't see all that work go to pot. How am I going to fix my windshield? how am I going to go to mayo for my son at the end of the month? Do you know any organizations to help? I am nonstate aid and the last thing done by child support recovery was Sept. 9 and that was only a try to locate. I gave them a number and an address!! My son fell ill when public school was constantly feeding him stuff he could not have. He's allergies where on the prescreening. I also sent all his food. That is why he is in private (which is going great!!!) now. THat meant new supplies, uniforms and tuition. Can anyone help?

I receive 30 to 40 emails a day from a unidentified mortgage company and their message does not have an area to click to unsubscribe. I do not want to keep receiving these emails. Also, when I read their email there are weird words at the bottom that don't make any sense.

Because me and my gf have been trying to save up money for the future. I know banks provide less than 1%apy. Some money market accounts offer over 5% APY. This is a much better rate. What is the difference and what are your feelings towards the two accounts?

It is completely beyond me how people are able to do anything. I've worked my whole life and despite a flakely, short-term approach to careers, I've always made a decent salary. I just finished my 2nd degree and a new job. I make $1700/month and just can't seem to get things straightened out. I wait for paychecks and upon receiving them, I pay everything possible, leaving myself with $50 for two-weeks and repeat the same thing later. I always swear that I'll skip a bill, but it never seems to work that way. Is it because I've been single and dependent on a single salary most of my life? Is it because 30k/yr just isn't a decent salary? Is there some trick that I can employ to improve my credit such as getting 0%apr/12 month credit cards to eliminate debts or auto-pay and then just keep up with the credit cards?

im only 22 years old, im not in bad debt, but enough to keep my digging for money...i guess im about $4,000 in, some of you may say thats nothing to worry about, but i cant afford to pay $300 a month on each to lower it...back last year i enrolled with a bill consolidation company, at the time i thought i found the answer! but to my dismay they screwed me over more than anything, i was paying them about $290 a month to make my payments for me, then all of a sudden i was getting calls from creditors saying my payments were over 2 months late and never on time which i was paying late charges instead of the intial payments. Recently i thought about inrolling with another, trying to find one that was possibly approved by the government or state. My question is how can i compromise with the creditors myself, instead of putting my money on the line? Do they have like "hardship" departments? please help!

First of all let me start with the fact that we do not have children, just yet. We are working on having kids and currently we both work full-time office jobs. We finally realized the other day that we want me (the wife) to start to stay at home. There are many reasons behind this but I won't go into it now.

I will be working on getting my cake business up and running so that I may provide a second income. We really want this to happen soon because we know that we have been pushing it off for too long. So I am asking for suggestions or tips from others who have experienced this before.

To give you a glimpse of our financial situation: My husband’s finances will cover our bills (if we sell one of our cars) with $50 to spare at the end of the month. In the bills I'm including groceries, gas, etc.

I do plan on working a couple temp jobs, like 5-10 /month to bring in extra cash until the cake business really picks up.

I would really appreciate to hear from everyone! :o)

We recently sold our home and moved to a city with a lower cost of living. After paying off all debt, excluding mortgage, we'll have $75k to reinvest. I want to purchase a duplex and keep some cash available for emergencies. My husband does not want the headache of being a landlord, but I feel that real estate is our best investment (it was my convincing him to buy our last home that netted us $174k...Men!) I'm presently not working, but will probably start a job around the first of the year, and my income will be "gravy."

Presently, the money is in a savings acct. earning 5.05% Any suggestions? Neither of us has a retirement plan per se, and don't want to rely on social security in the future.

Can a person who hold the Power of Attorney be held responsible for bills not paid? For example, if you are named the Power of Attorney for a friend so you go about your duties of trying to for the person's bills, etc. while the other person is unable. Then, if let's say, there are really large hospital bills the other person has outstanding, can the hospital then go after your own personal finances you to pay the hospital bills since you hold the power of attorney? Or is that a not "allowed to do" on the hospital's part?

Thanks.

A democratic Dictator, The laws that strangle your ability to prosper, are forced on us by Brussels, because we never got a vote on Europe, it means top political leaders are all dictaters that refused a vote so to counteract we need a democratic dictator to de regulate and make our own rules to set us free.
