I need financial help. I prepared for one thing and it has been a snowball effect. First child support stops, then sick child, medical expenses, over 200 in medication, private school, windshield cracked from one side to another. I have raised my credit record from 505 to 585 in only a year of being divorced. I can't see all that work go to pot. How am I going to fix my windshield? how am I going to go to mayo for my son at the end of the month? Do you know any organizations to help? I am nonstate aid and the last thing done by child support recovery was Sept. 9 and that was only a try to locate. I gave them a number and an address!! My son fell ill when public school was constantly feeding him stuff he could not have. He's allergies where on the prescreening. I also sent all his food. That is why he is in private (which is going great!!!) now. THat meant new supplies, uniforms and tuition. Can anyone help?

To answer some concerns; I do not have a T.V. to sell and I need my computer for school. I have recieved scolarships for school however that covers tuition and gas I drive a total of 40 miles a day M-F. I do not feel that my problems are others responsiblity, remember I stuck with school instead of going on DHS. I want us to have a good life not on assistance. THe school I had spoken to on several occasions and they still did not listen. When my child ended up with severe respritory ditress and went to the ER from public school not adhering I couldn't not with a mothers heart send him back. I am not out there just for money as a matter of fact I give when I am at church and also given 5 or 10 here or there to people in need. I have been through stillbirth, abuse, sick child, divorce and much more. I am just asking for suggestion for help. It is my responsibility to provide for my son however I am doing the best I can. I don't think it is fair dad gets away w/o helping!!

I'm really sorry that all this has happened. Normally I would not recommend anyone sending their kids to private schools if they have such financial problems, but in your case it doesn't look like there is a great alternative. Your windshield shouldn't be that expensive to fix. Have a garage sale or something.

If your son is that sick that he needs to go to the Mayo clinic, you might consider moving to Rochester. I would also look into the Shriner's hospital, as one person mentioned, or the Children's Hospitals. I believe both of them help for free.

You also might have to think about leaving school, for a while. Work two jobs until you can get back on your feet. You can go back to school in a year.

If you do not attend church, I would recomend doing so. First of all, the spiritual guidance will be good for you and your child. Secondly, you might find people who can help with child care, food, possibly even someone to drive you to Rochester.

I pray that God will begin to rain blessing down on you.

The best thing I can suggest is to quit work and stay home. You will get state aid and medical for your child. You can homeschool (no tuition). Don't you have insurance on your car? To bad you didn't fix it before it got so bad. It's funny after all these years our government still forces women to go on aid to get the help they need instead of making the deadbeat dads pay their share!! Don't guess the bum is around for your sick son either!! You could try a church too. I'm sorry you and your son are going through this, but I just don't know any other answer to give you. Hope things get better soon.

a lot of drug companies give away their drugs for free if you cant afford them. go to the web site for the drug manufacturer and look up their patient assistance programs. some of the applications are on this site http://www.needymeds.com/apps.taf

if you cant afford a doctor take your kid to a clinic. not everyone can afford private care.

if you cant afford private school, either find a scholarship for him or put him back in public.

what kind of help are you looking for? donations? other people arent going to pay your bills for you.

find ways to spend less. move to a cheaper place. sell your tv & computer to get the money for your windshield.

Hi, Check with your local Shriners organization. There are there to help with very sick kids, and I am not sure, but I think they pick up the tab. Don't quote me on that. Good luck to you sweetie.
