I would like to be able to cash checks written out to my business name. I was wondering if there was a way to do that without setting up a business account. My goal is to be able to sign my name on the back of a check that was written out to my business. Can anyone help?

Joe won a lottery jackpot that will pay him $12,000 each year for the next ten years. If the market interest rates are currently 12%, how much does the lottery have to invest today to pay out this prize to Joe over the next ten years?

I just read this Yahoo article http://biz.yahoo.com/brn/061009/
Titled: 6 (worthless) excuses for not saving money

And I realized - I don't save nearly enough as I should. Are you pretty good about saving $$$? And if you are, how do you keep from not spending it?

I need help/ideas for raising some money. I know someone who was nominated for the student ambassador group people to people, but does not have the money to even dream of going on their trip. She would love to go to Australia (the trip they chose her for), but her family could never afford to let her go there.

Can anyone help?? We thought of some ideas, but I figured I would also ask our Questions community for help as well.

We came up with- putting some of her allowance money away per week, talking to her church, writing a letter to different businesses in our town.

Currently my ARM has rocketed to 7.3% and I have PMI to boot.

At what point is it, or is it not, viable to switch to a fixed rate option somewhere in the 6% range.

My refinance loan ammount would be approx 400K.

I owe a $500.00 bill, okay? They've agreed to take payments of $137.00 per month and it's due on the 28th. Well, I sent a check out late cause I forgot and got it back in the mail cause I made a mistake in the address and so I had it returned a couple days ago. I didn't send it back because I thought it'd be easier and faster to pay over the phone, but they never answer the phone or call me back. I'm afraid because they've sent me a threatening letter. What should I do?

I am 17 (last year in sixth form) and I am looking to set up a bank account but have no idea which is the best for me, all I really want is a card to get money easily and a decent interest rate, not bothered about offers or internet banking, which seems like the best account based on this? If you need it, I can give you more information too.

I live in the US and she is in Romania for one year. Since I am the breadwinner, I would like to be able to contribute to this account from the States, so that she would have access to these funds. Is this possible, perhaps with an international bank of some sort? Or am I stuck with paying high Western Union fees? Thanks!

My father in law collects $1437 per month social security. He has no other income. He has acrrued credit card debt of close to $18000 during the past 4 years for his living expenses. We are just now finding out about this. He has no money left over at the end of the month to pay on these debts. Do the creditors have the ability in the state of Virginia to garnish his social security. Any other thoughts? Bankruptcy is not an option. He has no assets. Does not own a home, has no cash in bank and his car was purchaed for $800. Thanks.
