I owe a $500.00 bill, okay? They've agreed to take payments of $137.00 per month and it's due on the 28th. Well, I sent a check out late cause I forgot and got it back in the mail cause I made a mistake in the address and so I had it returned a couple days ago. I didn't send it back because I thought it'd be easier and faster to pay over the phone, but they never answer the phone or call me back. I'm afraid because they've sent me a threatening letter. What should I do?

if you sent the money out.. just relax and watch the tube or get into something interesting.

they'll live! ok... don't get an enlarged heart over this... they can take a late payment and payments smaller than this.. they have to because if they don't...

then you can take them to the cleaners.

:D

which is true actually, get to know your rights about debt!

you can talk to bankruptcy lawyers about this also... they can give you the low done on what you can and can't do and what they can and can't do.

but no really, relax.. yer ok this pay period.

and threatening letters are just that.. threatening.. nothing else.

believe me.

i filed for bankruptcy and boy i found out what my rights where in a hurry! it's amazing what collectors do to people that they are not suppose to do.

don't pay attention to the letters.. just pay attention to the debt and paying it off.

never sweat things like this.. even if it was for a much larger amount.. they'll take the money!

now pop some pop corn or something and lay back and spend the rest of the day lowering that blood pressure and anxiety.

Look them up.. find out the correct address... send them the check via certified mail or via a overnight service with a copy of your returned envelope and a letter explaining the delay.... .

mail it again, with a note of explanation, and maybe the original marked-up envelope.

bill collectors are scum anyway; but at least you can show you've made an effort.
