I recently placed an order with a well known clothing retailer. I received confirmation for one order, but my checking account shows that I was charged twice for the order. Do I contact the store about the issue? Or do I need to contact my bank and contest/cancel the charge?

I am deep in debt and struggling to make payments. My wife is about to go on maternity leave which means less money coming in. How can i get my wages paid. I can,t use my wife's account as it is likely she will have to go bankrupt. I do not want to ask friends as it is an embarrasing situation. Are there alternatives ?

We've seen a mortgage adviser but she was very general and didn't advise the best course of action. Not sure if we are going to keep the propoerty short or long term yet so that probably doesn't help!

My mother died a year ago due to complications related to a stroke. My father's insurance capped out at $125k. The hospital has summoned him for $8k. He is retired on a fixed income and cannot pay. Someone told him to file bankruptcy which I'm against. He's very upset by this. Can the hospital put a lien on his home (he's still paying on it)? Do I make my father get a part-time job or sell my mother's old car? The car is only worth about $2500.00 maybe $3k tops. Any serious advice is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know if you can buy a 100 dollar bond (muni, corporate, etc)? If so, where can I find some information on doing this? The minimum I can find so far is 1,000 dollars and right now I cannot afford that.

I frequently forget to pay my bills. I will leave them unopened on the counter, or in a file until the cable gets shut off, or bill collectors start calling. I cannot seem to figure out a way to make myself pay the bills! Any advice?

I used to sent a check to bank to pay my home mortgage week before my last day to make sure it will arrive on time but on the check I put the date with my almost last day that is due. I was fine since now this month I sent a check with a 10/13/06 on it but the bank took money on eleventh costing me a charges for not having enough money on my account to cash the check. When I went to the bank they told me I can't sent a check with late date on it and that they are allowed to cash the check whenever they receive it is it true? Can they cash it even that the date on the check is in couple days in advance and is it true that I can't sent checks with advance date on it.

Every pay day people pay off debts and bills first and take care of themselves last. It's no wonder people are struggling financially. You have to look at yourself first as a business, and then other expenses. Not the other way around. I've seen people pay off credit cards and starve for about a week and have no gas money for themselves because they took care of extra bills first. No one gave a damn that they starved for that week or had no gas money in their car. You have to set some money to the side for yourself do you agree? No matter how much debt you're in. I also figured out why the government has so much money. I'm in the Army so I'm government relt'd. It's because they're so cheap! They get the most out of you for as less as possible. I have to start thinking this way when I go shopping. I'm going to the Dollar Store even if I have $1,000,000 in my pocket! No cable, no internet, no phone, turn off all the electricity every time I walk out the house. I plan to save big!!!
