I frequently forget to pay my bills. I will leave them unopened on the counter, or in a file until the cable gets shut off, or bill collectors start calling. I cannot seem to figure out a way to make myself pay the bills! Any advice?

I'll have to agree with Miss Terri, just have the bills taken out of your account every month so that way you don't have to worry about it.
On the other hand, you could just let everything get shut off because it doesn't sound like you have any time to enjoy the things you're paying for anyway.

Hi Girls, Why don't you have them automatically deducted from your checking acct. That's what I do. On payday all I have to do is deduct the amt. of the bill and not have to worry about sending it off. Not paying your utilities affect your credit score just like your credit cards, so if down the road you are going to want to purchase a big ticket item this could hurt you. If you have been living in your place for over a year you can get ahold of the light or gas company and request a level payment plan on your bill so you will know each month how much that bill is without it going up and down. Good luck to both of you. Terri T.

Get an accordion file folder that has 31 dividers. Put the bills in there according to the days they are due. Best put them in four days before they are due so you have mail time. Have a friend that you can be accountable to make sure you send the payments in on the days they are due. This is a start but you need to start somewhere. Sorry can not be of more help.

I have the same problem you have. I actually hate making out bills and putting them in the mail box lol. I have found that most banks offer online banking and free (or a small fee) to pay bills online. Since I seem to have no problem signing online this has been a godsend. best of luck to you ;)

Pay all bills as soon as they land in your mailbox.
