I've been seeing these commercials about ING DIRECT and today I received a mailer from them. It seems simple enough but I can't help but think there's some hidden catch or charges (maybe to withdraw money??) If you've had personal experience with them, how as it been? I'm leery...

Any info would be great. Thanks!

My husbands company is considering buying out pensions, my husband has been with the company about 24 years and is still at least 25 years away from retirement.

Ok, i'm sure as you all know that i'm in this bind with this stupid a$$ loan, but how would i be able to claim bankruptcy and would this loan go along with it?? I mean i'm in debt already, and i want to clean up my credit anyway, so do you think that this loan would go on there and they couldn't make me pay it back and they wouldn't be able to say fraud on me??? what are the steps to claim bankruptcy????

I am seriously thinking about leaving the US due to the looming financial mess on the horizon. I'm a 25 year old professional, and with the baby boomers retiring soon Social Security and Medicare will become enormous burdens on the fewer workers who remain in the workforce (i.e., me) to pay taxes. The only ways to balance the budget, that I see, are through higher taxes on my wages, or a devaluation of the dollar. Either way my standard of living will take a hit. So, I'm thinking of getting out now- before the music stops and the party crashes- and establishing a new life overseas in a country with more stable prospects. Why should I stay here and work hard and pay taxes to fund other people's retirements when those programs won't be around when I need them? My generation is going to have to pay for the promises made to the baby boomer generation- pensions, etc.- but companies no longer offer pensions for us. So what about leaving the country before the train wrecks?

Often times called account aggregator services. At wells, I use to be able to check my current balances, amount due, and due date of all my loans, creditcards, checking accounts, and retirement accounts all on one page. In addition, the balances would update automatically I didn't need to go to any other companies website. Balancing my checkbook was so easy!! Gosh I really want a service like this again

With MSMoney I have to manually change the balances every month. I don't want anything like that.

A friend or so I thought of 3 years opened a checking account for me because i couldnt. Scared of husband taking the money. I was a store manager and just found out that there has been 1500.00 refunded to the visa check card into the account. No I am being charged with this crime. The refunds were done under my cashier code, because I was training her. What can I do, and am I totally screwed. It all points to me...

Having gone bankrupt in 2005 (now released) I have an income payments agreement in place until Nov 2008.

Now finally having the opportunity, I am looking to go to Univeristy in September 2007 (something I decided against 5 years ago due to credit cards and car loans!) However I will not be working whilst at University and if I do it will be purely to help cover my accommodation costs etc.

Is anyone able to advise me how this will affect my IPA? Will I be in breach of my agreement? Or will it be altered to resume after I have finished my degree, or will the agreement be canceled all together as it will be after my 3 year period of backruptcy?

I would really appreciate anyone's kind help and input on this one.

Whilst I realise Citizens Advice is probably the way forward, I thought I'd ask on here in case anyone can relate!

Thanks very much.

For example, if a check was directed at me, has my name but the address on it is different than the one registered with the bank account I plan to deposit it in, does it matter?

Not only that...in about five years company bought out all workers and I would have received about $175,000 at age 55. Help me live with that.
