i have told the jobcentre i have got married do i need to tell the council too?

as i claim benefits, the jobcentre never told me to contact the council do i need to tell them as i lived with my wife before anyway so nothing has changed

Yes. The Job Centre will tell them anyway, but you also need to advise a change incircumstances to the council.
