Random thought: what if we took all our junk mail, wrote "return to sender" on the envelope, and then sent it back to whoever sent it....of course they would have to eat the postage back...but maybe it'll discourage junk mailing.

I ordered some golf clubs and saw that they will be arriving in my area around 7:30PM. Now , obviously, they will not deliver them tonight, but could I pick them up at their distribution center? I have tried calling UPS and have been on hold earlier and am on hold now, I figure I might get a faster response using Yahoo Answers.

I just read an article that kmart and the company that owns the Olive Garden are in trouble with the FTC for charging gift card recipients dormancy fees after 24 months of non-use. I just wonder why so many people "sit" on their gift cards? I usually use mine within a few weeks of getting them. I think two years is plenty of time to use the gift card. Even if I get a gift card at a store that I do not usually shop at, I still use it. It is free money!!! I mean, how long do people expect the gift cards to be valid? An eternity? What do you think?

For instance,

relationship consulting,
business consulting,
Financial/tax consulting,
and so much more that people go to doctors' offices and H&R Block and compusa for is offered FREE on Answers.
So the question is,
Do you trust answers to handle these things for you? (for free?)

I don't meant to come off conceited, but I think this is a really good question. Please star it if you agree- I'd like for it to get some attention.
Thanks.

I know there is alot of scams going on out there and I am on top of my game.I have just received a tracking number for a $3500.00 money order which I get to keep 10% of that.I am going to take it the bank, but I am going to make it plain to them about it,so if it is counterfeit,I will not get into any trouble.I am just wondering are there ways that they will know if it is counterfeit on the same day.If it isn't then I could make a pretty good living doing this, but if it is,well back to square 1.

I also have a few coins from the 1800's as well. Can I take the coins to a coin store or where else can I get them appraised???

I've always kind of wondered what would happen if someone bought your auction, you took the money and never mail them their item. Would eBay get the police involved or just refund them their money? I'm not planning to do it myself, heh, I'm just surfing eBay now and I thought about it.

This is kind of a rant and a question. Whenever I send a business e-mail or document that HAS to get through to the recipient, I always expect a quick reply as simple as, "received, thank you". I hardly ever get a reply even though I usually put "Please confirm receipt of this e-mail" at the bottom or something like that.

I've worked in a very busy office before with a very hard job that required a lot of multitasking and have never left anyone hanging like that.

Does anyone know if it is general practice today to just assume your e-mail went through?

It seems absurd to just assume anything, since we all know technolology often fails us.

How about private security to protect the rich folks? Is there a law that allows Joe six pack to take out SS early in a depression? If we do the Bush SS plan and move it to the stock market can we invest in companies that do most their business overseas or would it be smarter to convert to Euros?

I recently went to do laundry at a cleanrite laundromat. I put my sheets to dry and after 20 minutes, took my sheets out and they were burnt to a crisp. This is in NY city. The board of consumer affairs says they do not take complaints about laundromat dryers and the laundromat says that they are not responsible for clothes being damaged by their machines. This is so wrong. My question is how can I get the laws changed so that this does not happen to others. I was not reinburst for this. Why is this allowed to happen and there are not laws to protect people from stuff like this. If your equiptment is responsible for damadging someone else property, I think you should be held responsible. Especially if you run a business.
