I live in England and often send letters to the US with stamped self-addressed envelopes for replies. Sometimes it takes awhile to get replies - does anyone know if any price increases are planned?

Postal prices are always going up, Dunrobin on this side of the pond. We had a recent one and seem to get them whether we need it or not once or twice a year. Currently 3 of the 39cent (US) stamps seems to get my letters to Ramsgate (Kent) within a reasonable length of time. Does your friend have an eMail addy? Our postal authorities rightly see the internet as a real business loser unless we are sending packages to the UK. Cost me $50 to airmail a box of gifts to my M8's in Jolly Olde E, other wise it would have taken up to two months for delivery.

I have recently heard they are talking about raising the price of a single stamp from 39 cents to 41 cents so I guess that could be a sign... I hope that helps.

Yes next month they will be 41 cents. Today is the first day they are selling "the forever stamp".
