I find that I spend an awful lot of time sorting out problems with my cable and broadband provider/gas and electric company etc. not to mention wrongly delivered goods/incomplete goods etc etc etc. What's more, their so-called customer helplines make being unhelpful into an art form and can be so rude to you, the paying customer. I have to say that things are much the same before they have secured your purchase, in many cases. Have you tried asking for advice in an electrical store recently? Is the philosophy of customer-satisfaction just a token gesture nowadays? Why and how do these companies continue to generate huge profits despite essentially poor consumer-relations (regardless of what their 'surveys' show)?

I have been with orange for years. I was called in to the shop get an upgrade, I was 6 months into a 12 contract i was told i,d spent so much i had qualified early for an upgrade. after 12 months i wanted to upgrade again and was told the rules (orange) had changed and there was no automatic 12 month upgrade. The problem is I went to check this with orange and was told I was on a 2 year contract taken out when I upgraded, I would never have agreed to that and feel I,ve been conned, I signed a contract, but assumed it was for 12 months. I know people will say I should have read it, but I trusted the guy, I know if i go back to the shop things will turn ugly. does anyone have advice on how to get out of this peacfully.

Does anyone know of an UPDATED site or source where I could look up the routing number for my bank?

I use Sovereign Bank in Massachusetts, and I had a checking account with them a number of years ago, but ran out of checks and stopped using them. Now I need to order a box of checks but I want to buy them from a separate company.

It is registered in my name, I renewed my insurance policy in the past year bc I never drove it-I drive my bf's car. I left for Atlanta (I'm in WV) one weekend and my friends called to say my dad stole the car one night and totaled it. My dad does not have a driver's license, or insurance, and is forbidden by the doctor to drive. The car was in my name. Who is responsible?

Is anyone familiar with these? People claim,"I've got ten cards, all with a value of $x.xx or $xx.xx or $xxx.xx,I don't know which cards have what value on them,I will randome select an envelope with a card in it and send it to the highest bidder...etc." -Does this seem weird? Alot of them have perfect, high feedback, and other people have bought similar card auctions of theirs, but it seems like they'd be losing money based on the average high bid of these auctions? I mean, why would they do it and lose money, nobody would right? But if they ARE legit,I've been wanting to bid on one,has anyone done one of these? Thanks!

I used a certain shuttle service and was charged almost 30% gratuity directly to my credit card. The only charge that was directly stated in an email to me was the actual fee ($51) for the shuttle service and "gratuities, toll, and parking" which were not directly stated. I called the company to see what the extra charge was and was told that it was for gratuity as there were no tolls or parking fees. Is it legal for a company to charge an undefined amount of gratuity and make you pay for it? Can I legally ask the company to take the gratuity charge off of my bill as I gave the driver a cash tip? I did not know at that time that the gratuity had already been charged to my credit card.
