The costs of goods and services go up as the demand for them increases. Reduce the demand by not buying the goods or services, and the providing companies/people will have to reduce their costs to maintain their businesses, or they will have to close them and allow someone else to take their place who is willing to offer the goods at a price people are willing to pay.
