My company competes in a competetive market...such that discounts are given so often that there is a name for different kinds of sales discounts. One of these is a concession.

Let's say that my company invoices a customer, and the customer disputes the invoice. The invoice is correct as-is, but the company extends a gesture to the customer by crediting the sale anyway. The effect of this is to debit sales as if the sale had never occurred. This is not satisfactory, however, as management wishes to track sales that are surrendered as concessions.

My solution to this has been to book the sale as normal and add a transaction to a contra revenue account (the equivalent of a sales discount account), which leaves the question of how to treat cost of sales. My boss contends that concessions are an expense account, not a contra-revenue account. He says we should move the cost of sales associated with the lost sale to the concession account. But this distorts gross margin.

Again arguing with friends about the topic of franchise fee.... they insist the franchise fee of old town kopitiam is about 1 million..... i mean please be rational..... i had surf through the web and knew that even mc donald franchise fee only worth 1.5million to 3.5million rm.... and again i checked the forum and knew from someone that the franchise fee of old town kopitiam is just 300k.... but i not sure the exact figure.... can some one send me the official website for old town kopitiam?

First, I wish every one to understand: I DO NOT TRUST ANY-ANY POLITICIAN !!! If they were worth a crap, they would be productive in the private 'sector' and producing a valuable product, service, or benefit !!!
Second, If the Bastar* is a politician, VOTE HIM / HER OUT !!!!
Now, enough for my 'preaching'!
How about a LOTTERY, with the 'proceeds' / profits, after payouts, to be placed into an insured, interest bearing 'trust fund', WITH NON POLITICAL people ( exactly like a private company), doing the 'paperwork, payouts, investments' etc.
This is rudimentary, and just for some THOUGHTFULL 'feedback' from people who, not knowing me, will "TELL IT LIKE IT IS" !
