I was wondering if crematoriums would give a discount (say at least ½ off) to a deceased person already burned. Regardless of how they burned, it is obvious the crematory would not need to use the same amount of energy needed to cremate an unburned person. Does anyone know if this type of discount is available & how it is passed along to the deceased’s kin?

I was asked this on an interview (investment banking).

You have two companies which are identical aside from the fact that one is all fixed costs and the other is all variable costs. Which would be worth more in a valuation?

My logic was that an all fixed cost company would have a higher beta, and therefore a higher discount rate by CAPM, and thus a lower valuation by DCF, making the variable cost one worth more.

Sound right?

I am being harrassed by a bill collector, I called to find out the address to their location so I can send a cease and desist letter. However, the man refused to provide me with that info. He insisted that I give him my information first, which I did not want.
All I know is that the name of the company is ICS, and their number is 888-847-7243. I've been trying to find them, but none of the companies that I find has that number listed on their contact page. Please help. I have no letters from this place.

Why can't stores/sellers give the discount upfront instead of mailing it after 8 to 12 weeks? How does it benefit them other than the obvious fact that other buyers might not mail in the requirements for the rebate? Is there an accounting purpose for this?
