Currently my credit score is around 550 :(!
I have 5 credit cards that are maxed out totally $3000 - I have one credit card - joint with my mom - zero balance. I have past due bills on my credit totaling about $3000.
So my question is, if I pay all of the past due bills and pay the balances on my credit cards and for the next 6 months continue to charge little and pay the full balance and continue to pay my car payment on time? In 6 months - how much of an impact will this have on my credit score with no new credit inquiries?

Also once a bill is in collections and on your credit report - when you pay it, does it go away and not show on your credit report anymore?

Recently I've been looking to fix my credit. Its nothing major just a few minor things and I've been reading alot of information. I read that If I'm denied for credit that I can send proof and request a FREE credit report being that I've already used my one for the year. Can I send that to all three bureaus?

The creditor cuts half of my debt $15,000 and asked me to paid off for next five days; otherwise, they are going to sue me. I don't understand..Can they really do this?

After hours conversation, I gave them my checking account information, and I have to find $15,000 in five days. What did I do?

Hi, I lost my wallet and I had 2 credit cards. I just called in to report them lost. I asked if there were any fake purchases and there wasen't. I think I lost one of those cards about a year ago or so. The credit card companies cancel both my cards and said I should get them in about 5-10 days with a new number on them. Will this hurt my credit and/or lower my credit score? If so, how much would my credit score get lowered by? How many point? I think the last I checked I had a score of 830(yes 830). How does this hurt me? Please help, any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm considering switching from Visa to American Express, because they are offering me a much better APR. I'm wondering if it's worth the switch. I'm slightly confused on the difference between an American Express card and a Visa or Mastercard.

My husband wants to keep our house and file bankrupty to get rid of all our credit card debt. I want to sell the house, move in with my folks, not file bankrupty and pay off the debts. Both are doable but I think my idea has a less adverse effect. What do you think?

Just got a letter in the mail with a check for 4.700.00. The letter said we won a lottery. Informs us to deposit the check in the bank..then send 2.700.00 via Western Union directly to the tax agent..to pay taxes on our total winnings of 250,000.00. I know better not to do this since I know my bank will come after me when that check bounces. The name on the check is Mirage Financial Services. Has anyone else heard of them.

Recently I had a set aside judgement granted by the county court for a Bank of America credit card. I plan on providing the three credit reporting agencies with a copy of the signed set aside judgement but I want to know how this will ultimately effect my credit score.

In case your wondering why I'm asking this question my lawyer dropped the ball write at the end of this process and I had to contact the court myself to get the judgement signed.

Is there certain times that they can't call? How many times per day are they allowed to call? I understand that I owe the bill, and don't mind them calling, but I think they are going overboard on number of calls and the times that they call. They start calling around 7 am and quit around 9:30pm. I was just wondering what my right were. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.
