Is there certain times that they can't call? How many times per day are they allowed to call? I understand that I owe the bill, and don't mind them calling, but I think they are going overboard on number of calls and the times that they call. They start calling around 7 am and quit around 9:30pm. I was just wondering what my right were. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

P.S. These are not from a collection agency, they are from the people that I actually owe the debt to. Thanks!

The Fair Credit Reporting act is what you're looking for.
You can demand that they stop calling you altogether, and cite the FCRA that it is within your right to do so and they MUST follow it, or face fines of at least $1000 per violation.

I'm sure they can call anytime between 7am-10pm.

But you should really focus on resolving the collection before it becomes a charge-off and really ruins your credit score.

I would talk with the creditor and try to reach some agreement. Not only will they stop calling and harassing you, but you'll save your credit score and put this behind you.

More than one call a day, even from a collection agency, is considered harrassment and they could get in serious trouble for that. Tell them that if they don't stop they will be hearing from your lawyer. If that doesn't work, then I suggest you really do get a lawyer.

have you set up a payment plan with them?

if you have, they shouldn't be calling you that often unless you are not paying what you said you would.

if you haven't, set up a payment plan. you can also send a written letter to them to stop calling you and ONLY contact you via USPS.
