this law firm claim to have purchased the balance now thay are affter me why did they do that and that was 20 years ago what is going on

I just got a strange call at my office, I answered the phone and the person said I need to verify employment please - I said okay then they said MY name and I was startled and said who is calling? They said Mr. Brown" and I said yes she works here and then he said she did not put down her position on the app? and I said position and they hung up. I have been having serious credit issues (my car note is two months behind) does this sound like a credit collector or something more sinster like a Private Investigator?

I am so angry. I don't know what to do. My husband has such a low credit score he can't get a two dollar loan.(figure of speech) Even if I have a good score he's the bread winner and he's dragging us both down. He already created this "bad credit" before I ever came along. I had no idea. This does not change the fact that I love him, but it makes me wish I were not legally tied to him. No matter how good my credit score is his will over take it. No one will give us a loan. NO ONE what so ever.

I would like to restore my credit but I heard that if you continue looking at your reports its bad. I recently looked at my experian credit report and it doesnt look bad. Does the other two companies Equifax and Trans Union have the same information or more?

My husband has alot of debt from before we were married and so do I. He filed bankruptcy about 3 years ago (we've been married two years). I've never filed and have quite a bit of debt as well. Can I file for both of us? We're having such a hard time finding a place to live! Any tips on how to rent or buy with bad credit? Thanks!

I'm 30 and just got my credit score up to the mid 70's after 8 years of hard work. (college credit cards destroyed my history) I only have college loans showing on my report of 23k which are in good standing for 3 years now. I've applied for a cap1 card and am waiting to get approval to improve upon it by paying the bill every month. Do any of you use capital one? If they approve me for the platinum, afer how many months of being a "good credit card user" can i apply for a higher limit?

I have $5,000 in credit card debt. Would it be better (FICO score wise) to get a loan and pay them all off, while make the lower payments on the loan or would it not matter?

Why do people say pay your bills on time when none of my bills are being reported to the credit bureau? What are good ways to establish credit after a come back from bad credit? Everyone suggest get a department store credit card, but from what specific store, I just got shot down for a target card. Any tipson how to keep your credit decent after a lay off and working for peanuts.

I have bills totalling around $5500-6000 and need a loan to pay them off and close all the accounts and then just pay off the loan instead of 6-7 different payments....my credit is around 450, so pretty low, i've tried a few places but haven't been approved, any ideas, or I mean places to be guaranteed a loan? This debt is from when i was a teen and now i am older and mad at myself for it but trying to get rid of it...help!
