All 3 bureaus have different information. Your creditors may report to 1 or 2 and not the 3rd. It's free to request your reports from each 1 time a year. They do not count the "inquiry" against you so it does not hurt you. Mostly, it's time that heals your credit.

The big three credit bureaus, Trans Union, Experian and Equifax have similar but different information. You have a right under the newly passed FACTA act in 2003 to review all three bureaus and i suggest you do. Go to annualcreditreport.com and look at the other two. When you pull your own credit report it is noted by the credit bureau but is not disclosed to anyone else that pulls your credit and hence does not affect your credit score. You should review credit at least once a year and maybe more especially before you apply for any credit and with the new law it makes sense to do so.

It does not hurt you to look at your credit reports. I think the gov't should force the credit agencies to provide more info to the public about credit because most people don't understand it.
You should look at your credit reports (all 3) as often as possible because they will likely have some varying info as some creditors only report to 1 or 2. You should pay the extra money and take a look at your score as well, anything under 650 is bad. So this at least once a year, sometimes people that have similar names or similar ssn's might end up having something on your report.
If there is anything on any of the reports you can dispute it. Good luck and contact me if you have any questions.

like pp said, all three credit bureaus can have different info. it's important to know what each has, and that what they have is accurate. since you are entitled to one free credit report from each agency per year, a good suggestion would be since you got yours from Experian already, wait for 4 months after requesting that one, then request one from either Trans Union or Equifax. check for any inconsistencies. if you find any errors, follow the directions online to start the process to correct them. four months after that request the remaining one.
when the one year mark is up you can start the monitoring cycle all over again. you are right on top of things. good luck!

It is quite possible that credit in one of the reports varies from another by as much as 100-150 points. And when you compare one credit report from another, it comes out to be totally diffrent. Yes there are a lot of errors on those reports and dont keep on checking the credit every now and then. If there are a lot of things that do not belong to you, start claiming & keep on doing that till someone listens...

nope...all 3 are different. If you need to dispute you have to dispute all 3 separately. Different companies may only report to one or two Agencies
