I just recently turned 18, and with college, and a car, and a thousand other things...good credit would be nice to have. I'm responsible with my money, a sub-poverty family does that to you, but my credit score is already bad. When I was 11, my stepdad (Who's long gone now) put a cable bill in my name and never paid it. There's also a Sprint Bill from when I was 16, but I paid that off a few weeks ago.

So I guess I just need some options on fixing my credit score. My mom doesn't really know, she has bad credit herself from bankruptcy (sp?) and stuff. The quicker I can fix it, and the more ways to fix it, the better, I have a lot of things to do that need a credit score. Thanks ahead of time...!

I owe under $1000 in past debut which I am working to pay off. I am making decent money and I do pay my bills ever month. Most of the bad credit was from my younder irresponsible days but it is still hunting me thru adult hood. I just need to know who I can look at or contact to at least help me establish a $300 limit and then they would allow me to prove myself for a bigger limit in time.

And also, if I do get a credit card, how should I use it in order to build my credit rating (i.e purchases, payments, etc.)

I am 30yrs old now, and its killing me to not have at least a 650 or better credit rating.

So any advice and resources would really help me out.

thanks

You know when you pay for something with a credit card and you have to sign your signature on that electronic screen? Does it bother you that the company you are patronizing not only has your card number but an electronic signature of yours in their data bank?

The fraud potetial is just enormous. How can you prove you didn't authorize transactions if they have all the ingredients to perpetrate the simple fraud?

Also, how long does it take to approve a business credit card and a short-term business loan? I know what the terms are and what you need to bring in with your application...I'm just not sure how long the process takes. Any advice will help. Thanks!

All of my mortgage, credit card, installment and otherwise accounts are up to date. However, I have about 4,000 worth of collections that I would like to pay. I am going to have $1500 I am able to use to pay them off. Since I can't pay them all, which ones would be best to start with to make the biggest impact on my credit score? A couple large or a bunch of small ones? Newst ones? Help!

HI. I'm doing some research. My boss has an excellent credit rating in the USA where he has lived his whole life. He has recently moved to Canada and found out that his excellent credit rating is not following him..is there a way he could perhaps contact Equifax and have the US branch of Equifax transfer information to Equifax canada? Does anyone know of any other established ways of transferring an excellent credit rating from one country to another? Any help appreciated
